Glacier National Park Engagement Session | Lauren & Jared

As a Glacier National Park engagement photographer, I’ve explored endless breathtaking locations for photo sessions. From the sweeping shores of Lake McDonald, to the tall cedars of Avalanche gorge, Glacier National Park has it all! But when Lauren & Jared told me they wanted to explore the rivers in the area, I knew exactly where to take them for the session of their dreams: Belton Bridge in West Glacier!

Benton Bridge, Glacier National Park

Belton bridge was built back in 1920, and was the original entrance into Glacier National Park until the 1960’s, when it was washed out by a historic flood. The Belton bridge is a local’s hangout in the summer for activities like fishing and bridge jumping. The local raft companies bring their raft tours through this section of the river as well. I first discovered Belton Bridge in Glacier National Park when I was looking for a location that had rich history and is away from the typical hang outs in West Glacier. I knew right away that I had to bring a gorgeous couple and my camera here to capture amazing views! And this epic spot provides a scenic river, mountain views, and vibrant aspens especially in the fall, was the perfect backdrop for Lauren & Jared’s love story!

The luscious turquoise river water gave the whole session a romantic feel, and the first morning light added a dash of dreaminess. While I’m sure Lauren & Jared could take incredible photos in Kalispell along the Flathead River or in a field, a setting like this one sure didn’t hurt!

Couples in love...

I also loved the way they dressed to complement the location. I always advise couple to look up images of their session location beforehand to ensure perfect color choices, and these two definitely chose wisely! Lauren’s flirty orange dress popped perfectly against the blue mountains of Lake McDonald, and Jared’s comfy grey sweater beautifully completed the look!

Finding the perfect spot to take couple’s portraits isn’t always easy, but you better believe I’ll be returning to Belton bridge in Glacier Natioanl Park over and over again for couples and engagement sessions! Congratulations, Lauren & Jared on your engagement, and I hope you have the most amazing BEST DAY EVER!
