Kalispell Senior Portrait Photographer

Katelyn Griggs, Bigfork High School, Class of 2021

Our lives are full of incredible milestones. But sometimes because of the hustle and bustle of life, we forget to savor each one. Whether you’re celebrating a graduation or the launch of a new business, this season of your life deserves to be celebrated! With lives that are noisier and more hectic than ever, my favorite gift that I can offer as a Kalispell portrait photographer is a chance to truly highlight each extraordinary achievement in my clients’ lives. And, during Kate’s senior portrait session, I was thrilled to celebrate her final year of high school!

I first met Kate when at our session together, but you would’ve never guessed that by the end. And when she told me that she wanted a portrait session to represent her country side as well as some portraits to encapsulate her achievements as a senior, I couldn’t wait to tell her story! Because here’s the thing about Kate, she’s the sweetest and kindest person I’ve ever met! She is involved in Basketball and Track through school and enjoys horseback riding and hiking in her free time.

And teaming with her to create a photo session that perfectly celebrated her achievement was an amazing experience for us both!

High School Senior Portraits | Locations

I’ve found that locations play such an important role in establishing the mood of a session, so it’s important to select one that compliments a client’s personality. This is why we planned our session for a spot along the Flathead River in Kalispell, where we knew we would be able to see water and the mountains. We felt this perfectly captured the rustic and adventurous tone we were seeking for the session, and from the snowy-capped mountains to the glowing sunset peeking through the trees, we absolutely nailed it!

Her outfit also played an important part in capturing that Montana vibe we were looking for. Her camo shirt and blue jeans gave Kate a sense of Western Montana girl in the country while her jean jacket and houndstooth skirt really showed off an edgy side of her personality! Creating a cohesive look is all about finding the perfect blend of client, location, and wardrobe. And Kate’s session totally nailed it!

Throughout the session, I honestly couldn’t stop gushing over her natural talent of being photogenic and her bashful smile when I told her to flirt with the trees and by the end, I knew we’d captured something truly fantastic! Just take a look at the photos, and I’m sure you’ll agree!

Getting to know Kate, both in front of the camera and after it had been put away, was such a wonderful experience. So, join me in wishing her a huge congratulations on her Senior Year and graduating! Have a blast in this exciting new endeavor, and I hope to work with you again so soon!
