Intimate Wedding Photographer in Whitefish

Emily & Matthew's day started at their rental suite at Whitefish Lake Lodge, on a misty day in June. Emily was getting her hair & make-up done when I arrived. I started by capturing the details she had with her for their day; jewelry, rings, bouquet, shoes, invitation suite, perfume, etc. I bring along a "details kit" that I created over the past few years, it contains things like ribbons in various colors, ring boxes, and other items that help pull a flat-lay of details together. You can never be too prepared, ya know!

Emily got ready along with her sister and mom, sipping on mimosas and enjoying light snacks. I ventured over to the men's suite where the guys were watching the latest football game and drinking beer. Matthew was a little nervous, so I pulled him outside to the deck for detailed photos of him getting ready. Part of my process when booking wedding couples, is including a video call and then another closer to their date after they're booked. These calls allow me to connect with my couples, build a rapport, and establish a working relationship that makes their wedding day go so smoothly. Over the years, I've learned this helps me document their day in a more intimate way, as we're already comfortable together and feel like friends.

Emily & Matthew had their wedding ceremony on the back lawn of Whitefish Lake Lodge, behind the condos. It was a quick and intimate wedding ceremony, filled with emotion and tears. After the ceremony, they went straight into their reception dinner with family. The speeches were heartfelt, leaving Emily & Matthew in tears. There was even a surprise song/guitar duet between Emily's dad and sister, this left the whole room with sweltering tears. It was such a magical and romantic day, truly unforgettable.
