Savannah & Brandon's Trip to Glacier National Park

Kind words from the couple:

“I cannot say enough good things about Jenn! She is so personable, professional, and easy to work with. She took my engagement photos during a trip to Montana. My availability was limited due to having other things planned on the trip, but she was so flexible and made sure we had the perfect weather for our session. She made us feel comfortable and we ended up having so much fun! I wish I lived closer so I could do regular sessions with Jenn. I recommend anyone in the Montana area to book your photo session with Jenn, you will be glad you did!” - Savannah Caister

Traveling all the way from Michigan, Savannah and Brandon were here to explore the vast mountains of Glacier National Park and experience the unique and tasty restaurants of the surrounding area. Savannah works for HR at a staffing company, but she’s also a photographer on the side (check out her work, I love it! Savannah Caister Photography) and Brandon is in finance in the automotive industry. They traveled to the area with their family and snuck away for a photo session for the night, experiencing the start of fall and a glorious golden sunset that provided us with the perfect lighting for their entire session (take a look below)!

If you’re ever in the area, either in Glacier Park or the Flathead Valley, there are some pretty amazing restaurants that I highly recommend checking out. My recommendations are for places that you can relax at, have a good laugh, and don’t need to stress about dressing up (it’s Montana, not Seattle).

My top three restaurant recommendations:

  1. Backslope Brewing (Columbia Falls): They create and serve handcrafted brews and don’t forget to check out their eclectic array of “bowls” on their menu, raved about by many!

  1. Harbor Grille (Lakeside): Located on the shore of Flathead Lake, this dinner spot is a nice little getaway from reality. A short drive from Kalispell (20 minutes) and you’ll find yourself watching sailboats and romantic sunset on the water. Take a walk out onto the docks after dinner or sit by one of the outdoor fireplaces, an easy place to lose track of time. This is a favorite of mine during the summer months, with good food and atmosphere.

  1. Mama Blancas (Whitefish): A Rustic-chic restaurant & bar serving Latin-fusion fare, you’ll find some of the best street tacos and lip-smacking margaritas. I love that on weekend nights you can hear the bands playing at the Remington (bar located at the back) and continue your night afterward with drinks. It’s a low-key place with fun servers and a great family atmosphere.

Aside from good food, the Flathead Valley and areas surrounding Glacier National Park has so much to offer. You’ll find yourself a bit overwhelmed with all the activities and things you could do in just a week's time here. I, of course, always recommend stepping out of the tourist shoes and experiencing Montana from a local perspective. We might encourage camping vs hotels and talk about a fishing hole instead of a hole-in-one at the golf course.

Engagement and Proposal Photographer

I, of course, think that it’s a great idea to capture your vacation in photos. Whether you’re here with family or your lover, getting some photos in the area by a professional Glacier National Park photographer is a popular idea. Get family or engagement pictures with stunning backdrops, an evening away with a local who will give you the top tips and recommendations for the area, you can’t go wrong! Feel free to fill out a contact form on my website for more information about getting on my books!
