Insert romantic love story here...

I was simply just trying to hold me heart together as this all unfolded. Ben contacted me back in March I think? And by contacted, I mean that we both work together. He is a security guard at the hospital and I am a nurse, he happened to be on the unit and started delving into details about this big surprise and asked me to be present to capture the day. Their 10th wedding anniversary was to happen in August.

Ben told me how he was going to get her ring engraved for their 10th Anniversary, the jewelry store was going to contact Britt and ask her to bring the ring in for some warranty work. He had to plan it out so she would take it in 6 weeks prior to the Anniversary so he could go pick it up beforehand as he was going to re-propose.

Don't worry, she said YES! 😉

Its all about the details...

The story continues to unfold. Ben recalls as they were walking up to the gazebo (the very same gazebo they said their vows at 10 years ago) that Britt exclaimed to him, "I hate surprises!" and Ben simply replied with, "I know, thats why I am doing this!"

Bens cousin was all set up with his Bluetooth speaker and started playing the song God Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts. Queue the tears.

Moments after Ben got down on one knee, the entire crowd of family and close friends (About 20 people hiding behind this makeshift wall) jumped out and yelled, "SURPRISE!"

Ben planned for a renew of their vows, with the same officiant that married them 10 years ago. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they said their vows and kissed, twice (Ben was a little antsy and jumped the gun the first time 😂.)

Lets celebrate...

The fun commenced after the vow renewal. The family & friends had lugged up tables, coolers, a two-tiered cake all for the post celebration. Everyone mingled and the kids played. I snuck the Wiersma family away for a few family photos to add closure to the special day!

Thank you Ben for asking me to be apart of the special day! Your family has a special place in my heart and I feel blessed to capture these special moments!
