I love photographing families traveling to this beautiful state I call home, with about 90 percent of my clients during the busy season being travelers. What I love even more are my repeat clients. I love watching couples and families grow from year to year. Jamie and Tyler are one of the couples that have allowed me to photograph them and watch their family grow. I have been photographing them for years including their wedding in June of 2021. When I found out that Jamie was expecting I couldn’t have been happier to do a maternity photoshoot with them.

After a brutally wet spring here in Montana we finally got some nice weather just in time for Tyler and Jamie's session. On a warm June night, we headed out to the shore of Whitefish Lake. As a Whitefish Montana Photographer, I could not have asked for a better evening! The calm waters on the lake and the red/gold sunset made for an amazing backdrop. It was such a nice night, there were others also enjoying the warm evening air. Summer has finally arrived in Montana!  I can’t wait to meet Jamie and Tyler’s little one who was due around the 3rd week of July.

Maternity Photoshoot Outfit Ideas

Jamie chose a cute green plaid midi dress that was fitted on top and flowy on the bottom, accentuating her bump perfectly. When choosing an outfit for a maternity shoot the most important thing is choosing something you are comfortable wearing. No, you do not have to wear a dress to your maternity shoot! If you are more comfortable wearing a shirt and pants, try a fitted shirt with a light cardigan and some cute jeans or leggings. If you have decided on a dress, choosing a maxi dress or flowy midi dress can give you some drama while choosing a fitted dress can define your bump. Remember to wear what makes you feel the best!
