Rain or Shine, Getting married in Montana

I remember the day that I received Amanda's inquiry for eloping in Montana. She was at work, and I asked her to jump on a call real quick. Her voice was friendly and warm, you could tell she was busy at work but was so kind on the call. She booked that day, no questions asked. I knew Amanda and Kevin were the perfect couple for me!

We started planning that week, given that Amanda had only traveled to Montana once, she had many questions about the area and how to go about planning. I loved fielding her questions, we had a couple of zoom calls and our friendship grew quickly. I grew fond of her pup, Heidi, who always joined our calls. I anxiously awaited to meet her in person, since they drove up to Montana from Arizona. She picked out the cutest Airbnb house to rent and sent me pictures of their attire, and small decor items they planned to have at the ceremony, the day was shaping up perfectly.

As the elopement day drew near, the excitement rose. I kept a close eye on the weather for their elopement day and it was not looking so great. Amanda ended up ordering 8 clear umbrellas for her family to use the day of the ceremony if the rain actually happened like it was predicted. The weather in Montana is so crazy, until you actually live here you don't realize just how sporadic it can actually be. We always say, "If you don't like the weather in Montana, wait 5 minutes." You can practically get all four seasons of weather in one day in Montana. I always encourage elopement/wedding couples to prepare for any type of weather that might happen. You could end up having a rainy Glacier National Park elopement, so let's be ready for it!

Amanda and Kevin were champs about the weather. No amount of rain phased them. Amanda was happy as a clam (she also had an endless supply of snacks, food is her friend)! She warned me before her elopement day to say that food and snacks were a MUST to keep her happy day of! I came prepared with cheezits and diet coke!

Elopement Day: Finally here!

It was perfect. Sure, I could say that about every wedding day, but really the day was so good! The rain was unique and it brought a beautiful sunset. Amanda and Kevin carpooled with me the day of their elopement, this made for some fun conversation, and Amanda and I got to chat about our love for the show, Friends. I even brought her a Friends pair of slippers and a Bride cup when I arrived at their Airbnb.

After the elopement day, Amanda and I have stayed in touch, messaging and texting back and forth. A true friend gained for life. Amanda and Kevin have future plans to buy land in Montana so they can come back and spend more time here. Below is a beautiful review that was written by Amanda and Kevin, that they left on my Google My Business.

"Jenn is the sweetest soul I have ever met! She loves her job so much and it shows! Her laugh is infectious which makes for the best photo sessions. Watching her come alive when she saw the best backdrop for my wedding photos and the very specific instructions for poses was amazing! She listened to what my dreams were for my wedding day and I was blown away how she captured WAY better than I dreamed! The quality of the photos is unreal!!! Her helpful tips on where to print for the best photos were amazing and beyond helpful. Jenn is so responsive to any and all questions, and let me tell you... I asked a TON of questions! My favorite part of having her be a part of my wedding day was our lasting friendship after. I love her work and talent!" -Amanda Hastings
