Former Park Ranger Marries in Glacier National Park

I still remember when Carly's inquiry came to my inbox, I read the little blip "tell me more about your day" where she noted that she used to be a park ranger in Glacier National Park and she worked primarily at the Many Glacier area of Glacier. An area loved by many held a place in her heart that told her she had to get married there. When she and Brandon got engaged, she knew Glacier was it! It was really special that they chose to come to this intimate part of Glacier to say I do, I am so thankful I got to be a part of it!

Their day started at the Many Glacier Hotel, where they and their family were staying during their elopement weekend. The inside of this historic hotel is unique, I had never been inside of any of the rooms, but it was an experience to see the inside! Of course, if you're lucky enough to get a lake-facing room with a balcony, what a treat to have views like that morning and night! Carly & Brandon's room, where she got ready was a lake-facing room, and it was fun to find a creative way to hang a wedding dress on the balcony. We even caught the attention of the guests staying in the room down the hallway as we brought the dress onto the balcony. Carly got ready in the room, putting the finishing touches of jewelry on in the little mirror that sat above the sink in their room.

Carly and Brandon had a first look near their ceremony site (it was actually on a hiking trail, they got a few bystanders for this special moment) and then moved to their ceremony site to say their I do's in the presence of their closest family & friends. They got married at the SW Beach of the Many Glacier Hotel. It was a beautiful sunny day, with a light breeze and it was a warm one too! Their ceremony was filled with lots of emotion, Carly's tears about did me in myself! I love when couples can express their emotions, it truly is such a heartwarming experience to witness the intense love that people share. I personally loved that Carly & Brandon were able to include their family in their elopement day. There are many ways to include family for your elopement day, even if they can't be present in person, feel free to check out my blog post on including your family in your elopement day.

Fine Dining Experience at The Ptarmigan Dining Hall

Part of Carly & Brandon's elopement day was enjoying a post-wedding dinner at The Ptarmigan Dining Hall. We planned most of their elopement day timeline based on when they could get into the restaurant for dinner that night. It's on a first-come, first-served basis, so you can't make reservations ahead of time. They were able to get a table shortly after the ceremony, so we headed over to the dining hall after doing some family portraits. The dining hall is breathtaking when you walk in and the food was exceptional, some of the best I've ever eaten! We even had their cake after dinner, the server for our table had the cake cut and served to each guest. I am always humbled and appreciative when couples include me in these intimate moments of their elopement day. I love getting to see them in the element and enjoying time with their family members. Getting to know their family and friends that are in attendance really is the cherry on top and rounds out their story, it's a sweet sweet feeling!

After dinner, Carly and Brandon rallied to get some more portraits during sunset. Carly was so excited to get a photo at the Many Glacier entrance booth into the park, where she used to work checking passes as people entered the park. I love incorporating sentimental places and ideas into an elopement day, this is what the couple will remember for the next 50+ years. We got some photos above the hotel, on a raised area between the hotel and the parking lot. Ir provides such a gorgeous view of the mountains and lake below.

I still smile as I look back on their day, something so special to witness in person! View more from their elopement day in the gallery below.

Whether you have memories in Glacier National Park or are just traveling here for the first time, I would be delighted to be a part of your special day. I love helping couples plan out their elopement from a completely different state, Carly noted in her Google review just how much I helped with planning their elopement.

"Jenn is the best! I was really nervous planning an elopement in a completely different state, however, Jenn 100% had my back and helped organize everything. It was wonderful! Jenn is warm, caring, thoughtful, and super creative. I feel like she captured our day perfectly! She kept thinking of new and creative shots that really depicted the park and our love nicely. We LOVE the images we received. If you hire Jenn, just know you are in good hands! Jenn has a good soul and is very talented with her camera. You will be thrilled with the quality of your day and also never want it to end. The images are a perfect reminder of that. Thank you, Jenn!!!"
