Whitefish Montana Elopement
Chelsey & Darek traveled from Pennsylvania to get married in Montana this past Spring. What a treat to come to this gorgeous state and say I do! They were staying at the private homes hosted by The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. I met them at their rental home to meet them for the first time and captured some getting-ready photos with their details. Chelsey had just finished getting her hair done and looked jaw-dropping gorgeous. I proceeded with photographing the details they brought with them for their day.
We departed from their rental home and headed for Glacier National Park. Chelsey & Darek were granted a ceremony permit for the Lake Mcdonald Lodge Beach. The water levels were pretty high in early May, so the shoreline was slim to none this time of year, something to consider if you plan to have guests present with you on your elopement day. We met Erin (the officiant) at the lodge on this gorgeous afternoon. Erin performed such a lovely ceremony for these two, full of laughter and genuine moments.
After their ceremony, we headed to Apgar Day Use and they cut their cake and signed their marriage license. Funny story with the cake, while driving to their ceremony, they had to drive through the rough road under construction along Lake Mcdonald, and the bumpy road caused the cake to topple over!! They sure had a good laugh about the cake casualty! Sometimes these things happen and it doesn't impact your day (the cake still tasted yummy)! We continued on for photos in and around the Apgar area of Glacier National Park. Chelsey and Darek even had their first dance in the back of their Jeep truck during portraits, talk about a memorable moment!
I, Kermit, take thee.... Wait, Kermit the frog??
As Chelsey and Darek said their vows to one another, Darek got silly and started saying his vows in a Kermit the Frog voice!! This made Chelsey laugh uncontrollably during the ceremony, along with the officiant and myself photographing. It truly was a moment to remember. This is just a friendly reminder that ceremonies don't have to be stiff and cold. You can laugh, share memories or a favorite story, or even recite a poem and cry. When you elope, this day is 100% about you and making it what YOU want.

"Jennifer was truly AMAZING at every step of our journey. She was a resource before, during, and after our elopement. We were instantly comfortable with her, she fell right into place like a long-lost friend. Our day wouldn't have been what it was without her! We just adore her."
