Niehaus Adventures at Glacier National Park
As a Glacier National Park family photographer, I've explored endless awe-inspiring mountainous locations for photo sessions and met countless incredible families! Sometimes the locations are the standout of a session, and sometimes families swiftly steal the spotlight. But every now and then, a location and a family fit together so seamlessly that it feels meant to be! And after just a quick glance at the Niehaus family's photos, you'll certainly agree that their Glacier National Park family session was one of those magical treats!
I first discovered Bowman Lake at Glacier National Park a few years ago. I have lived in Montana for 16 years and never made it out to the North-Western portion of Glacier National Park. It was love at first sight for me. I knew right away that I had to bring a lovely family and my camera here ASAP! Enter the Niehaus family! When they mentioned they were looking for photos with breath taking mountains, I knew Bowman Lake was just the spot! Their playful and spirited personalities were perfectly showcased by the fresher baked goodies at Polebridge Mercantile and the calm blue waters of Bowman Lake! It was complete perfection from beginning to end!
The Niehauses told me before our session that they were really looking forward to seeing majestic backdrops and jaw dropping landscapes in their photos, and, thanks to our astonishing location, it wasn't difficult to deliver! Our original plans were to travel the Going-to-the-sun road in Glacier National Park, however, the iconic road remained closed for a large part of the summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I was quick at picking a back-up place and opted for the lesser visited portion of Glacier, the Polebridge entrance, taking us to Bowman Lake. The pristine still waters, angelic blue hues, and early summer weather gave the whole session a tranquil feel, and the spotted clouds and peaking sun added a sprinkle of adventure.
But let's be honest: how could the images be anything less than captivating with a family like this one in front of the lens! Finding the perfect spot to take family photos isn't always easy, but you better believe I'll be returning to Bowman Lake at Glacier National Park over and over again!
As a family photographer, I am uniquely blessed to work with the same clients repeatedly as their family grows and changes. I also get the privilege of serving clients from near and far, like the Niehaus family. They traveled to Montana from Texas to experience a great summer vacation, and escape the heat they usually have at home. This summer was my first summer really catering to vacationers, and its been a delight. I have met many new friends along the way.
Thank you so much, Niehaus family for inviting me along on this adventure with you! I hope to spend time with all of you again so soon!
